Kilpatrick’s Chemistry & Life Sciences Patent Prosecution team seeks either a USPTO-registered Attorney or Patent Agent with strong educational and/or industry experience in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Artificial Intelligence or a closely related field.

Preferably seeking a candidate with an advanced degree (e.g., MS or PhD) and at least 3+ years of related patent prosecution experience. This position will involve working with innovations at the intersection of software and biology, therefore, high familiarity and experience in both fields is preferred. Attorney and Patent Applicant must be detail oriented and have strong written and verbal skills. Proficiency in technical writing is a plus. Transcripts and writing samples will be requested. Attorney candidates must have corresponding state bar for primary office location. For attorney candidates, this position is an alternative to traditional partnership-track positions, and has a lower billable hour requirement. Patent Attorney / Agent would need to be based in one of the following Kilpatrick office locations: Atlanta, GA; Raleigh, NC; Washington, DC; or Winston-Salem, NC.

(Expected Salary Range: $160,000 – $220,000)
