Our nationally recognized Employee Benefits/Tax Practice is seeking a Counsel to join our growing Trusts & Estates team within the Private Client Practice in our Chicago office.

Role Responsibilities

 

As Counsel in our Trusts & Estates group, you will:

  • Advise clients on sophisticated estate, gift, generation-skipping transfer, and income tax planning matters
  • Provide strategic counsel on trust and estate administration, fiduciary obligations, and related litigation
  • Structure business succession and asset protection strategies
  • Support clients in charitable giving and philanthropic endeavors
  • Collaborate across practice areas to provide holistic and tax-efficient solutions

 


 

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school; strong academic credentials required
  • Admission to the Illinois Bar (or eligibility to waive in)
  • 7+ years of experience in estate planning, trust and estate administration, and related tax matters
  • Significant experience working with high-net-worth clients and fiduciaries
  • Strong interpersonal skills, business acumen, and a client-service mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex matters and client relationships with discretion and empathy
