2023 Verily 1L Diversity Summer Internship Program – Partnership with Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton LLP (KTS)
February 3, 2023You will spend up to seven weeks with KTS in either their San Francisco, Silicon Valley, or Walnut Creek office and an additional three weeks with Verily in house attorneys in our South San Francisco office (optionally remote). KTS will employ you for the full duration of the program (up to ten weeks). If necessary, KTS will cover up to 3 weeks of housing expenses for the Verily portion of the program.
At Verily, you will be working closely with IP counsel and our product teams. You will aid various attorneys (including the greater legal team) in providing guidance to our executives and innovators on a broad array of intellectual property issues that are implicated in the protection and development of groundbreaking products. A successful candidate should be passionate about intellectual property issues, ideally at the intersection of technology and healthcare.
At KTS, you will have the opportunity to do substantive work on a variety of projects throughout the program, acquiring new skills and gaining invaluable legal law firm experience. You will participate in all aspects of the KTS 2023 Summer Associate program, including dedicated progress evaluations. The Summer Committee members in each office serve as mentors for the course of the program providing guidance for evaluations, assigning work, and coaching you.
- A strong record of academic achievement
- A genuine interest in pursuing a career in patent law upon graduation
- B.S., M.S., PHD or equivalent experience in life sciences, computer science, physics, computational biology, genomics, molecular biology, biochemistry or similar
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, commitment to professionalism and collegiality
- Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad range of legal matters, and demonstrated ability to complete several simultaneous projects on a deadline.
